A REAL RACING CAR AT LAST!

Sports cars feel ponderous compared to the handling and performance of purpose built racing cars like this Crossle 32 Formula Ford.   With nothing on board but the essentials  this 1977 car weighs 940 lb.. with 105 horsepower to push it along.   A four speed gearbox, completely adjustable suspension with just over an inch of ground clearance, four wheel disc brakes and sticky racing tires deliver more performance than rookie drivers like me can fully utilize.  Indeed, Formula Ford provides some of the most competitive amateur racing to be had, and provides a challenging venue for accomplished racing veterans too.

With  a thorough orientation and ongoing advice and encouragement from the previous
owner, tuner, and driver, Eric Liebscher,  I have been able to complete a couple of days  familiarization and testing at novice speeds.  A bit more of adjusting the car to fit me, and me to it, along with winter's time off to prepare tools, spares, other support, and  maintenance  will complete preparations for the 2001 season.   Beginning in March or April, weather permitting, I look forward to entering SCCA Club Racing events in the Club / Spec Ford classes of RMDiv and SF Regions respectively.
